There were beautiful gardens in the city including the wonderful botanic garden. The castle was also interesting. In addition, Okayama is a wonderful place to stay with day trips to wonderful cities/sites such as Hiroshima, Kurashiki, Naoshima or Himeji Castle.

Okayama is very pleasant and easygoing, with lots of walking possibilities. It is also located in between big tourist centers that can be easily reached from Okayama. People in Okayama are very nice and friendly, and food is really delicious.

Besides having a few interesting sightseeing options of its own (castle, Korakuen garden), Okayama is a very convenient place to stop for a few days because it's close to other popular places to visit (Kurashiki) and a gate to visit northeastern Shikoku

Okayama itself is worth visiting to see, but it's especially good to use as a hub as it connects the north, south, east and west of Japan via the Shinkansen and local trains. It's particularly great as a base from which to explore Shikoku via day trips.

Excellent location. The amenities were very good.
Excellent location. The amenities were very good. They had a big Onsen bath on the top floor. The room was tiny and bed was uncomfortable. Even though I stayed one night, I couldn't wait to check out.

A lovely, compact city with lots of clean, comfortable public spaces. The area around the station is filled with lots of good restaurants and shops and a giant Aeon mall. I would describe the city as a college town, with a young vibe to match. Walkways are wide and clean and the streets fairly easy to drive and navigate, even for new visitors.
Probably the best location in Okayama - literally next to the station, a konbini and many bars and restaurants. Yet the hotel is nicely quiet, clean, comfortable and elegant. Staff speak perfect English, and is particularly helpful and warm to every customer. Breakfast was excellent and allows you to discover local products (as well as everything you would expect to see on a great breakfast buffet).
I would 100% return there if I were to travel to Okayama again.
Perfectly adequate double room at a bargain £90 per night, comfy bed, very clean and right next to the train station (which is so important in Japan when lugging luggage around). Okayama itself is a lovely town with a cool vibe, a beautiful Japanese garden and a splendid castle to visit, plus lots of cool shops and coffee bars on your doorstep.
The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful. The hotel and the room were very clean and tidy. All the utilities in the room were of good quality and nothing was missing. Being a rail side hotel, you are well connected to trains, buses and local trams and the station itself has a good selection of restaurants and shops.
- location was very convenient for sightseeing - about 10-15 minutes walk from the Okayama station, but very close to Okayama Castle and Korakuen, convenience store nearby
- room was clean and had all necessary equipment
- big TV and desk, comfortable chair
- quick check-in/check-out procedure
- reasonable price
Staff was friendly, and the location was good with walking distance to the JR station and the Castle. The mini museum every floor was nice touch. Easy access to a drugstore/convenience store from the hotel lobby was plus. The room we stay was small, and yet it had everything we needed and a good shower.
A number of staff spoke excellent English, the best we found on our three week trip.
Next door to an excellent Japanese/French bakery which opened at 8am.
On the Nishgawa canal which is beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Walking distance from Koraku-en Garden and Okayama Castle, both worth visiting.
Great location near the train station. We used this hotel as a stopover to go to Naoshima Island so the proximity to the station works well. The hotel is accessible from the station using underground walkways. The room has an opening window for fresh air.
The room was very comfortable. There were coffee, microwaves, and amenities in the lobby that guests can freely enjoy. It's near Okayama Castle, Korakuen, and the shopping district. There are tram and bus stations nearby.
Conveniently located within the Okayama Station complex, huge shopping complex, supermarket and bakery.
Shinkansen stop and local trains. to Naoshima ferry, Kurashiki and Korakuen. Taxi stands everywhere in the complex.
The refurbished building and the new hotel are a couple of years at least. Therefore thru still look pretty new. location is unbeatable, next to the station but not so much and close to bars and restaurants.
Perfect location, very close to the main train station. Okayama is a very nice city to visit for a day or 2 max. The room was very nice wnd you get everything you need there. The public bath was great.
Great location, very close to Okayama station
- Room was the biggest out of all the hotels I stayed in Japan
- Elevators/lifts was never a problem
- Comfortable bed
- Lots of stores nearby
The hotel was an easy walk from Okayama Station. I greatly enjoyed the complimentary ice creams after a soak in the public baths and the two shelves of manga available for guests to peruse!
The location is great. The room & bed wee comfortable, not luxurious. The breakfast was terrific. It’s a perfect hotel for passing through Okayama to naoshima!
Close to the station. Large rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. They recommended a great restaurant that was less than 5 minutes away from our hotel.
